What a weekend that was: Boat show as well as our first Vic-Maui practice weekend. Last week gave us some unseasonably sunny days. With the clear skies however the temperatures at night dropped considerably and a stubborn fog formed.
We left the docks on Saturday in sunny weather and light winds. Most of the Vic-Maui race team was aboard as well as some of our return crew.
While we managed to get the white sails up in light winds, thick fog rolled in leading us to return to the docks. Flying spinnakers in thick fog while dodging scary freighters is not much fun and not good seamanship.
Listening to the fog horns from the restaurant where we all met for an after sail social was much fun.
It was great to have most of the crew out. Great team spirit - great to have you all aboard.
See you on February 9th for some more sailing - for now let the pictures speak.
