And there was wind!

March 9th: Poseidon finally had mercy: The last of the Polar Bear races saw a nice breeze, sunshine and spring temperature. The team was a mix of Vic-Maui race crew, return delivery crew and sailors that typically sail on Havoc with Gunnar Johnson.

A light breeze allowed us to fly the spinnaker. Hoist, gybes and dousing went really well. Some close, but good calls dodging anchored freighters.

It was a great turn out for the last race of the series. A big thank you to the Vancouver Rowing Club, the race organizers and the committee boat team!

Now let the pictures speak.

Polar Bear in February  - Looking for wind

February 9th: No wind for the race so we went looking for it after waiting around for a while with the rest of the boats, Found wind for 30 mins out at Passage Island.

We tried the new A0 then when the wind died put the boat into reverse and flew the new S4 spinnaker, that was all we got from Sunday.

Marie's home made Chilli went down well with the Crew, Gunnar complained that he would not be able to get the crew from Havoc, back again if Marie keeps feeding every one this well, plus home made Banana loaf cake just to top things off.
